Do I have to see the same dentist whenever I come?
No, but we do strongly recommend that you see the same dentist throughout your treatment. At The Smile Studios, a patient will usually see a different dentist only in cases of emergency dental treatment, or if his or her assigned regular dentist is indisposed or not available for work on that particular day. Sticking with the same dentist has benefits for both the dentist and yourself. For one, your regular dentist is already familiar with your dental history. This means he or she already knows exactly what to look out for each time you visit for a checkup. He or she will also already know about all the special considerations in your particular case, like allergic reaction to certain drugs or even fears about certain procedures. A new dentist, on the other hand, will have to familiarize himself or herself with your case history before proceeding any further with your treatment plan.
Of course, the prerogative is entirely yours if you really want to change your assigned attending dentist. Just get in touch with our clinical director, Dr. Mani Bhardwaj, or any member of our staff and we will arrange for you to be assigned to a different dentist the next time you come back for your regular dental visit.
